After NYC, we went onto LA and OC. Here's a couple higlights of the trip : -Got to meet Ray Barbee at Johnny's house. There were just 10 of us at the house having dinner, a few drinks and Ray was jamming. Coolest guy on earth by far !!! -Saw Ricky The Dude, he rode his bike to the office. I'm bummed I didn't get to spend more time with him though... His bike is badass. -Went to Moore's Cycles and bought new headlight and a Lucas style tail light for the TR5. Keith is dope ! Wise old man with plenty of good advice. -Just made it to GLORY. Always nice to see what they have on their shelves.
I am not the biggest VW enthusiast, but I like old stuff in general. I recently made a trip to a tiny little village in the middle of nowhere, France to pick up my Triumph. Through a friend of mine, I got in contact with a guy who imports VW's from the US and he said he could put my bike inside one of his vans and ship it over. Great idea 'cause it meant the bike would stay nice and dry for the trip. Anyway, when arrived at this dude's place after a 3 1/2 hour drive I was blown away by the amount of cars he had in there. The guy was super mellow and didn't look like much. Buthe sure knew his gig. He is selling them all over Europe and has some cool stuff in there.
Of course, then I started my bike and forgot all about these VW's.
My friend Jelle's 68 Dodge Dart GT. Not too many of them around anymore. He bought it from an old guy who took good care of it. Thing is in such good shape ! Sick paint too. Can't wait to go for a ride.
